Employee Appreciation Day: Meet the Team

We’re all about celebrating special occasions, especially if it’s one that involves showing off our amazing team. We’d truly be nothing without our passionate and talented team of individuals who each bring valuable skills to District. Our mission to create delightful and memorable experiences would not be achieved without them, and we want you to get to know the people behind the magic. Keep reading to meet our Operations Manager, Holli, and two Event Leads, Jess and Nae, who play a huge role in our day-to-day success.

Meet Holli Walker

Meet Holli Walker

Production / Operations Manager

Holli moved to Atlanta when she was 15 years old and got started in the catering industry soon after at the age of 17 when she wanted to earn some extra money for prom. After working in various catering departments at the start of her career, she went on to work at Grady hospital as their Catering Coordinator and at two hotels as Banquet Captain before eventually landing at District.

Holli has been with District since the very start in 2018. Before this, she worked alongside our CEO, Rajan, in a food truck and helped prep food for his past company.

If she could travel anywhere, she’d be headed to Greece to see all the different beaches and historical landmarks, but more so the actual land/nature. In her words, Greece feels like “sparkling cucumber water” — we couldn’t have said it better.

Meet Jessica Martin

Meet Jessica Martin

Event Lead

Jessica joined the team last year when we merged with Figs and Honey Catering, where she had been serving for close to a year, and moved up to being an Event Lead within three months. She got started in the catering industry after a friend encouraged her to apply and fell in love with it. The creative aspect of the job is her favorite part, as she loves getting creative with buffet/station designs and how every day on the job is never the same. When asked what is one thing she wishes people knew about her job, she spoke about all the moving parts that go into an event. She mentioned how they handle all the “tiny, tiny details that no one thinks about that we have to think about, down to the placement of the forks and knives being a thumb away from the edge of the table.”

When she’s not leading events or helping with deliveries, Jessica enjoys binge watching tv shows (even ones she’s seen 5+ times, such as The Fosters and Vampire Diaries), reading books, and spending time with her sister and boyfriend. If she could travel anywhere, she’d head to Tokyo, as she’s always wanted to go there to experience the food and lively atmosphere.

Favorite dish: Beef Tenderloin Sliders with Horseradish Mayo

Meet Nae Walker

Meet Nae Walker

Event Lead

If we’ve catered an event for you, Nae is probably a familiar face. As an Event Lead, she is the face of many of our events here at District. No stranger to the world of food, Nae grew up watching her mom sell homemade dishes and later started at District as a Sous Chef before becoming an Event Lead. When asked what her favorite part of the job was, she responded that she loves “seeing people satisfied and enjoying the food while being appreciative of the service.” When thinking back on all the events she’s worked, her most memorable would have to be a South Asian African fusion wedding where we served a plated dinner. She remembers enjoying seeing the two cultures merge together.

Outside of work, Nae enjoys cooking for friends and family while hosting game nights. If she could travel anywhere, she’d go to Bali for the beautiful views and animal sightings in their natural habitats.

Favorite dish: Braised Beef Short Ribs

A huge THANK YOU to all of our staff who make what we do possible!
